Man arrested in Kent on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences.
West Midlands Police said the man was arrested under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act on Thursday.
Counter-terrorism officers held the man at a property in Margate, Kent, in a "pre-planned and intelligence-led" operation.
They said officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit were searching the property, aided by colleagues from Kent Police.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said there was no immediate threat to public safety following the arrest.
