A woman has been airlifted to hospital after the car she was in was hit by a light plane during take-off at a private airfield.

The tiger moth biplane collided with an unoccupied parked car as it was taking off, before hitting the second car, injuring the woman, who is in her 60s.

The collision happened at an event in Berkshire attended by around 100 spectators.

The pilot and his male passenger, who are also in their sixties, suffered minor injuries which were treated at the scene, while the woman was airlifted to hospital.

Thames Valley Police are now gathering evidence for a subsequent investigation by the Air Accident Investigation Branch.
