Woman suffers 'unprovoked' attack on village street
Police hunt for man in his 30s after assault in Camelon, Falkirk, on May 27.
An "unprovoked" attack on a woman on the outskirts of Falkirk has sparked a police appeal.
Police in Forth Valley are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Camelon, which took place in the evening of Friday, May 27.
The incident happened between 5pm and 5.30pm on Carmuirs Avenue.
At around 5pm, a woman was walking on Carmuirs Avenue when a man walked past her, before turning back and assaulting her.
The attack took place near the junction with Mariner Road and police are appealing to anyone nearby who could have seen him.
The man is described as being in his late 30s, white and around 5ft 8in with a medium build and short fair hair.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark blue zip-up cardigan over a red T-shirt and dark jeans.
Detective constable Grant Stronach, of Falkirk CID, said: "This attack was completely unprovoked and it's possible that someone witnessed this from a nearby house.
"If anyone recognises the description of this man and remembers seeing him around the time of the incident, please call us."
