A 21-year-old man has appeared in court accused of smashing windows at a school with a pole on Sunday morning.

The cost of repairing the 27 broken windows at Denny High School in Stirlingshire is estimated to be around £8,100.

Connor Brown from Falkirk appeared at the town's sheriff court on Tuesday over the alleged incident.

The case against Brown was continued without plea until June 20.

Denny High School-based police officer Iain Taylor said: "This type of behaviour has no place in our society, to cause such extensive damage to one of our learning establishments is totally unacceptable.

"This school benefits not only the children but provides facilities for our wider community. The cost of repairing the damage caused by this male will have a lasting effect on the school."
