Is this £60m building the world's first wine museum?
The world's first dedicated wine museum will open in France, in the middle of Bordeaux wine country.
A new wine museum/theme park is about to open in Bordeaux, France.
La Cité du Vin (City of Wine) is a spectacular ten-storey wine-lovers project that has been seven years in the making - and it opens on June 1.
The highly ambitious project has cost over £60m to create, and director Philippe Massol says the goal is to make it the world's largest cultural centre for wine; a Guggenheim for grape lovers.
The building has been designed to resemble the satisfying movement of pouring wine into a glass, and includes a 250-seat auditorium for screenings and classes as well as a simulated boat ride taking you on a merchant's journey.
The permanent exhibition at the museum will take visitors through a history of wine-making and wine consumption.
Even hangovers get a look-in - visitors can relax and listen to famous tales of inebriation if the exhibition gets too much for them.
Additionally, there are wine tastings, a panoramic 'wine saloon' and restaurant, and the opportunity to buy wines from 80 different regions.
