A patient absconded from a secure unit while on escorted leave in Glasgow.

The public were warned to avoid Owen Bonner who absconded while on escorted leave in the east end of Glasgow on Thursday.

Bonner, a restricted patient at the secure Rowanbank Clinic at Stobhill Hospital was found and returned to the unit on Friday.

He also absconded from the unit in January last year.

Bonner, who was previously detained at the State Hospital at Carstairs after a judge declared him insane, claimed he was "worse than the devil" in 1994 after holding two women hostage at a factory in Coatbridge.
