The search is continuing for a missing hillwalker who has not been seen for more than a week.

Edward Davies, 39, is believed to have gone hiking on Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh near Glencoe on May 8.

The alarm was raised three days later when he failed to return and an extensive search was launched.

The Glencoe, Oban, Lochaber and RAF mountain rescue teams continued the operation over the weekend, joined by police search dogs and a UK coastguard helicopter.

They searched areas including Aonach Dubh a Ghlinne, Meall Mhor, River Coe and Signal Rock but found no trace of Mr Davies.

Police Scotland's Sergeant Andy Bilton said: "As each day passes Edward's family and all those involved in the search become increasingly concerned for his welfare. Edward is an experienced hillwalker and is likely to be well equipped for the outdoors.

"We urge anyone planning to walk in the Glencoe area to be mindful of the search activity and report anything that could help us locate Edward. Our search and rescue partners are thanked for their assistance to date and going forward."

Mr Davies is 5ft 11in, with a slim build and cropped dark brown hair.
