Twenty three people rescued after ferry collides with pier

Twenty-three people have been rescued from a ferry in Hampshire after it collided with a pier. No one was seriously hurt in the incident at Hythe pier, although reports said three people were treated for minor back and neck injuries.
The coastguard was called at around 9.20pm last night and sent rescue teams from Southampton and Lymington, as well as the Calshot Lifeboat and Calshot Inshore Lifeboat.
Hythe ferry, runs a twice hourly shuttle service between Town Quay, in Southampton, and Hythe Pier. All services have been suspended while investigations are carried out.
Sath Naidoo, operations manager at Hythe Ferry, told the Dorset Echo the vessel's wheelhouse had become "wedged" under the pier.The incident has been reported to the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, a media statement from the Maritime and Coastguard agency said.
