Drunk woman played 'chicken' with traffic near two schools
Roseanne Welsh, 47, assaulted police officers after her arrest by throwing water at them.
A woman played a drunken game of "chicken" with traffic near two schools in Stirling.
Roseanne Welsh, 47, was seen dodging cars in the middle of the afternoon on Cultenhove Road as mothers and children looked on.
Stirling Sheriff Court heard she was arrested and taken to Stirling police station, where she grabbed a glass of water and threw it the officers.
Prosecutor Adrian Fraser said: "She was seen to be playing chicken and she was shouting and swearing while there were children in the street.
"Police were called and she was arrested. It was clear she was drunk."
Welsh, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Stirling Sheriff Court to using threatening and abusive behaviour, and assaulting police by throwing water at them on March 19. She also admitted stealing a £2.35 bottle of cider.
George Pollock, defending, said: "She has long standing issues with alcohol which are linking to her offending."
Imposing a six-month jail term, Sheriff Wyllie Roberston told Welsh: "You seem incapable of refraining from this kind of conduct."
