Fife soldier's funeral to take place after marathon death
Captain David Seath suffered a suspected cardiac arrest during the race in London.
A Scots army captain who died after collapsing during the London Marathon will be laid to rest on Thursday.
Captain David Seath was a fire support team commander in 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery.
The 31-year-old Afghanistan veteran, from Cowdenbeath in Fife, suffered a suspected cardiac arrest three miles short of the finish line on April 24 and later died in hospital.
His funeral will take place at St Margaret's RC Memorial Church in Dunfermline on Thursday morning.
A family notice published in the local press said the service would be a "celebration of David's life", and mourners are encouraged to wear bright colours.
Mr Seath's mother Libby said her son had "lived life on the edge and to the full", while senior army colleagues described Mr Seath as an "outstanding officer".
His girlfriend Gaby Schoenberger said his death had left a "devastatingly large hole in our lives".
More than £140,000 has been donated to a JustGiving page in his memory, while an additional £77,000 has been raised for the Help for Heroes charity on his own page.
