Thousands has been raised to help six children whose parents died less than 48 hours apart.

Jennifer and Toby Norsworthy, from Huntsville, Alabama, passed away in separate incidents over the weekend leaving their six children orphaned.

Jennifer, 40, suffered a blood clot on Friday morning and was taken to Madison Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Her husband, Toby, 38, suffered a heart attack on Sunday morning and was taken to the same hospital where he later died.

The same doctor and nurse tried to save both parents, according to reports.

Following their sudden deaths, attention has turned their children Quinten, 20, Riley, 17, Bradley, 13, Mickey, 11, Aurora, nine, and Lainie, six, who are being looked after by family members.

A fundraising page to support the children has so far raised more than $80,000 (£55,000).

Ricky Self, a pastor at the couple's church, told reporters: "Toby loved Jennifer. She was his world and so he was of course heartbroken when she passed away."

Toby Norsworthy's mother, Tami, said the devoted couple "were all about family."

His sister, Tabitha Washburn added: "The number of people have been coming in and saying how they touched their lives is overwhelming."
