A grandmother and her four grandchildren have been swept away by flood waters caused by storms in Texas.
The victims were identified as six-year-old Jamonicka Johnson, seven-year-old Von Johnson Junior, Devonte Asberry, 8, Venetia Asberry, 9 and their 64-year-old grandmother Lenda Asberry.
The victims escaped a house where flood waters had reached the roof line but were then swept away by the rushing waters, according to the victim's son Dleniel Hudnall.
One other person in Palestine, Texas is still missing after bad weather unleashed tornadoes, damaging hail and torrential rains on several central US states.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch extending from east Texas into much of Mississippi and a severe thunderstorm watch for New Orleans and the southern Louisiana region.
