Donald Trump has pledged to "make America strong again" in his first major speech setting out his foreign policy goals, in Washington, DC.

He slammed America's foreign policy efforts since the Cold War as "a complete and total disaster," promising to "replace randomness with purpose" in order to make America "strong and reliable again."

Trump particularly criticised America's attitude to the Middle East, saying Americans should be ashamed that they are not doing more to help Christians in the region.

He also promised that as President he would get rid of Isis "very quickly."
