New powerful earthquake strikes off Ecuador coast
The tremor hit around 62 miles out to sea on Thursday morning.
A powerful earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude has hit off the coast of Ecuador as the country struggles to recover from another deadly quake.
The tremor hit around 100 km (62 miles) out to sea on Thursday morning. There were no reports of fatalities or tsunami warnings.
It came as survivors of last Saturday's 7.8 magnitude earthquake clamour for humanitarian supplies including food, water andmedicine in stricken areas. At least 567 people are known to have died in last week's disaster.
President Rafael Correa said on Twitter that three aftershocks were registered on Thursday night, adding "have strength!"
