T in the Park organisers hope to avoid a repeat of last year's travel chaos with an announcement of new transport arrangements for 2016.

Complaints about travel marred 2015's festival after people faced long delays trying to get to and from the site at Strathallan Estate in Perthshire.

Organisers say the site will be better managed this year thanks to a new car park and drop-off point.

In a video uploaded to Twitter, the festival organisers outline the changes to transport plans.

Buses and cars will use different roads to get in and out of the festival, which is hoped will improve traffic flow and reduce waiting times.

A separate car park will serve those coming from the north, including Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee and Perth.

There will be a dedicated pick-up and drop-off area for cars, taxis and minibuses, which will have access to the only safe walking route into the site.

The promotional video states the bus and coach station, which is supposed to be the best way to get to the festival, has been improved with stewards and welfare staff on hand to help revellers.

Organisers say the area will be "carefully planned and organised with lots of lanes, signage and information".

They also say the overall festival site is bigger with more space for parking, camping and in the arena. There is also a new space for camper vans closer to the camp site and meeting point to help people who get separated from their friends.
