A body recovered from the River Tay has been confirmed as that of a man who went missing earlier this week.

Officers were called out to Riverside Drive at 8pm on Tuesday evening after a member of the public found the body in the river.

A police spokeswoman said the body had formally been identified as 27-year-old Taylor Frazer.

Mr Frazer, from Dundee, had been missing since the early hours of Sunday and had last been seen on Riverside Drive close to Tesco. His family have been informed.

The spokeswoman said: "There are no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

"The public are thanked for their assistance during the missing person search."
