Domestic abuser put girlfriend's life in danger, court told
Troy McRae is accused of plunging her head into a bath full of water in Newport, Fife.
A man accused of putting his girlfriend's life in danger by plunging her head into a bath full of water is to stand trial.
Troy McRae faces a string of charges allegedly committed on the night of May 29 last year at a pub and a house in Newport, Fife.
He is first accused of attacking Sarah Marshall in the town's Brig o' Tay pub and later at an address in nearby Seacraig Road.
McRae is alleged to have grabbed her by the throat and thrown furniture around before smashing his way into a locked bathroom to assault her again.
The charge states he then seized her by the neck and submerged her head in a bath full of water to her injury and danger of her life.
McRae also faces charges of assaulting Blair Grossett, Skye Melvin and Carl Seed, as well as breaching bail conditions not to contact his victim by being in Ms Marshall's company on October 27.
The 28-year-old, of Whitfield Gardens, Dundee, denied a total of ten charges on indictment at Dundee Sheriff Court.
His trial was due to start later this month but has now been postponed because his alleged victim is heavily pregnant.
Fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson said: "The Crown motion is to adjourn because the complainer is due to give birth the day before the current sitting starts."
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael set a trial date in August and ordered McRae to attend a further pre-trial hearing in July.
