A flight bound for Glasgow has been diverted to Manchester due to a medical emergency.

Thomson Airways flight TOM1239 was due to arrive in Glasgow at 10.40pm after taking off from Palma in Majorca, but it was diverted to Manchester Airport after declaring an emergency.

The airline said it was diverted as a precautionary measure and apologised for any inconvenience.

A spokesman said: "We would like to apologise for the inconvenience to customers on board flight TOM1239 from Palma to Glasgow, which has diverted to Manchester airport as a precautionary measure due to a medical emergency."
