Police have launched separate investigations after two bodies were found in the River Clyde within a day of each other.

On Monday, a man's body was found near St Andrew's Cathedral after police received reports of a man in the water.

The fire service recovered the man's body from the river a short time later.

A police spokeswoman said: "There would not appear to be any suspicious circumstances."

On Sunday, a body was recovered from the river at Pacific Quay in Glasgow at around 4.10pm.

Police are continuing to investigate the discovery.
