Sister in emotional appeal for missing girl to come home
Kelsey Wardrop, 15, was last seen in Kilmarnock at around 6pm on Sunday.
Concerns are growing for the safety of a 15-year-old girl who went missing at the weekend.
Kelsey Wardrop was last seen by friends in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, at around 6pm on Sunday.
The teenager's family, from Kilwinning in North Ayrshire, said her disappearance was out of character. They have not heard from her since lunchtime on Sunday.
Kelsey's sister Stacie posted an appeal on social media, urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward. She said Kelsey's phone had been switched off, adding to the family's concerns.
The 20-year-old said: "Someone must know something by now ... has she fell asleep at a friend's? Who she was last with? Where she was going? Please, any info at all would be amazing.
"If you see her or get in contact, she's not in any trouble, we just want her home and safe."
A police spokesman said: "We have received a report and inquiries are ongoing."
He said the investigation was at an early stage and that officers were following several lines of inquiry.
Anyone with information should call 101.
