Three crew members missing after fishing boat sinks off coast
Coastguard launch search after receiving distress call from vessel near Mingulay.
Three crew members are missing after a fishing boat sank off the Western Isles on Saturday morning.
Coastguard crews responded after receiving a distress alert around 3.45am when the vessel's emergency positioning beacon was activated near Mingulay.
One crew member was rescued and taken to Stornoway Hospital by helicopter. A search has been launched for the other three people on board.
Helicopters from Stornoway and Prestwick have been assisting the Barra RNLI lifeboat in the search.
A Maritime & Coastguard Agency spokeswoman said the vessel went down in relatively calm weather conditions.
The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has deployed a team to conduct an investigation.
