A claim has been staked for the £35.1m Lotto jackpot, the biggest prize ever won in the game, operator Camelot said.

One ticket holder matched all the numbers on Wednesday's draw which will entitle them to the entire jackpot, the National Lottery's biggest ever.

The winning numbers were: 15, 17, 31, 41, 50, 57. The bonus ball was 5.

The previous record was a jackpot of £22.5m, claimed by two business partners from St Leonards-on-Sea in 1995.

In January this year, a £66m jackpot, the result of 15 rollovers, was split between two Lotto ticket holders.
