Violent stalker's years of 'dreadful' abuse against women
Martin Gray told to expect long prison sentence after being convicted on three charges.
A violent stalker has been convicted of subjecting two women to years of abuse.
Following a three-day trial, Martin Gray was told he faced a "long period in custody" for the "dreadful" abuse he doled out.
A jury at Dundee Sheriff Court heard from two of Gray's ex-partners, who were both single mothers when they met him in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
The court was told Gray was "controlling", "jealous", and "aggressive", and that he would "regularly damage property" belonging to the women.
His first victim, Kelly Robertson, said Gray would punch walls and doors at their home and throw items during a campaign of abuse against her between December 2010 and July 2013.
Pamela Mawhinney, his second victim, said Gray assaulted her on various occasions between August 2013 and July 2014, pinning her against a wall and throwing objects, including glass bottles, at her.
In one violent incident, he grabbed her by the neck and choked her. She told of a year of stalking that culminated in a violent attack marking the end of their relationship.
Gray, 33, of Salton Crescent, Dundee, was convicted of two charges of stalking the women and assaults on Ms Mawhinney. The jury returned a not-proven verdict in relation to assaults on Ms Robertson.
Sheriff Tom Hughes said: "You have been convicted of a very dreadful series of incidents. You are almost certainly facing a long period in custody. The court has to make it known that domestic violence is not acceptable."
He deferred sentence for reports and remanded Gray in custody.
