Train services are disrupted due to a broken down sleeper train between Aberdeen and Dundee.

Some trains have been cancelled and passengers are being taken by bus between stations on the Aberdeen to Dundee route.

ScotRail have made alterations to some services and apologised to passengers for the delays caused by the faulty Caledonian Sleeper operated by Serco. Disruption is expected to continue until noon.

A ScotRail spokeswoman said: "Our trains are able to operate between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh to Dundee only.

"Between Dundee and Aberdeen we have replacement buses running in both directions.

"We are hoping to be able to resume services around 12 noon."

A spokesman for the Caledonian Sleeper said: "The service from London to Aberdeen broke down this morning.

"We worked hard to ensure that all our guests got to Aberdeen just after midday and we had taxis waiting for anyone who needed one. We're really sorry for the delay to their journey.

"Tonight's services will not be affected."
