Man murdered colleague by stabbing 14 times in 15 seconds
David Squelch, who stabbed James Wallington in the brutal attack, has been jailed for life.
A man who stabbed his colleague 14 times in 15 seconds has been sentenced to life behind bars for his murder.
Canterbury Crown Court heard how 48-year-old David Squelch had picked up his colleague James Wallington to drive to the recycling centre they both worked at in Tunbridge Wells.
After arriving, Squelch produced a knife and carried out the brutal attack, before telling a foreman what he had done and waiting for police to arrive.
A police investigation found there had previously been a brief confrontation between the pair.
Mr Wallington had made a comment about the manner in which David Squelch had handled his mother’s death, suggesting it was time to move on.
The two continued to work together, having seemingly resolved their differences, but after attacking Mr Wallington, Squelch was heard to say “She’s dead, now he’s dead.”
Squelch was sentenced to life imprisonment and will serve a minimum of 22 years before he can be considered for release.
