A new mother was stabbed in the chest on her doorstep after she told off noisy teenagers for waking her baby.
Donna Cross had "reached the end of her tether" with the gang after they woke up eight-week-old daughter Jordannah-Skye.
She said she was stabbed in the chest - narrowly missing her heart - by one of the thugs after telling them to "shut up".
Donna was rushed to King's College Hospital for emergency surgery after losing two-and-a-half pints of blood. She also suffered damage to her breast-bone.
Following the attack on the doorstep of her home in Chatham, Kent, on Tuesday, the group of youths ran off.
A 19-year-old was arrested but has since been released without charge.
Jon said: "There are always youths hanging about in the street, making noise. Donna had just reached the end of her tether."
He described the knife-wielding thug as a slim white woman, aged around 18, with long brown hair and wearing a tracksuit.
