The toddler was taken to hospital with cuts and bruises around his eye following the incident.
The fight broke out when three men approached a man outside a shopping centre in Perth, western Australia and asked for a cigarette.
When the man refused the trio threw bricks at him, one of which hit the toddler who was nearby.
