Snipers and 1000 police to guard Euro 2016 matches
Officers will guard each match during the Euro 2016 football matches along with extra stewards.
The head of security at Euro 2016 has told ITV News hotels and bars in France could be targeted by terrorists.
Ziad Khoury said there had been no direct threat but that they are preparing for the worst case scenario.
Mr Khoury said they had reinforced their security plans with measures including more explosive controls and more stewards at matches.
Each match will be guarded by 1000 police, many of them armed, with special forces and snipers deployed too.
Bu fan zones, hotels and training grounds will still be vulnerable.
It comes after a match in Paris was targeted during the deadly attacks in the city last November.
Mr Khoury said: "We will do the maximum but if you're serious talking about security you can never guarantee 100% in any place.
"Even now we are talking, I mean something could happen.
"But what I can grant you is that everything that should be done has been done."
