A 70-year-old woman has been attacked by two teenage girls in Dundee.

The elderly woman was pushed against a fence, leaving her with a sore hip and "shaken" by the attack.

The incident happened at around 8.45pm on Wednesday on Main Street in the Hilltown. Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the attack to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "At about 8.45pm on March 16, the woman was walking in when she was approached by two girls aged between 13 and 15 years old, who pushed her against a fence and then made off in the direction of a nearby gym. The woman did not require medical treatment.

"One of the girls is described as being 4ft 10in tall, of slim build, with dark blond shoulder-length hair, wearing a dark hooded top and dark leggings.

"The second girl is described as 5ft 1in tall, with brown hair which was tied up in bun wearing a dark top and dark leggings.

"Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland, Tayside Division, on 101, or speak to any police officer.
