A plane with more than 70 passengers on board was left with a massive dent in the nose cone after it collided with a bird during landing.

Blood and the feathery remains of the bird were left smeared across the nose of the jet, which landed in Heathrow Airport on Friday evening.

The jet, an EgyptAir Boeing 737-800, had 71 passengers on board and managed to land safely, despite the damage to the nose of the jet. It then returned to Egypt safely yesterday.

Senior procurement specialist at Egyptair, Amir Hashim, took photos of the jet at the west London airport on Friday evening and explained what happened on his Facebook page.
