Hundreds of people, including Hollywood stars and political heavyweights, have gathered to pay their respects to former First Lady Nancy Reagan.

Mrs Reagan died earlier this month at the age of 94.

A military guard of honour carried her casket to the front of a specially-erected tent set up in the grounds of her late husband's presidential library in Southern California for a memorial tribute.

Current First Lady Michelle Obama, former president George Bush and his wife Laura, and current Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton were among the 1,000 guests in attendance.

Actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Selleck were also among those present.
