A TV reporter nearly got hit by a car after it crashed and careered towards the camera.

KTVU reporter Alex Savidge was reporting live when the car sped towards him.

His photographer Chip Vaughan shouted "get out of the way" and Alex jumped to the right.

The car missed him by inches as he dived out the way.

Alex came back on TV to give Chip a hug and thank him for watching his back.
