Woman attacked by gang of youths in Perth escapes on bus
The 67-year-old victim was left with minor injuries after the attack at the bus stop.
A 67-year-old woman has been assaulted by a gang of young men and women while waiting for a bus.
The woman was attacked by the group of youths on Rannoch Road in Perth on the afternoon of February 27.
Police say she was waiting at the bus stop with her purple shopping trolley when she was approached by the gang.
The victim sustained minor injuries in the assault and was able to escape by getting on the next bus that arrived.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Sometime between 2pm and 2.30pm the woman was standing at a bus stop opposite Scotbet when she was approached by a group of youths who assaulted her.
"She sustained minor injuries and was able to get on the bus and leave the area. The victim had a purple shopping trolley with her.
"The group are described as being four or five males and two females.
"Officers are keen to speak to a woman who may have witnessed the incident. She was in the area with a white husky-type dog.
"Officers also wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was on the number 1 bus in Letham and remembers seeing a woman with a purple shopping trolley."
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to phone Police Scotland, Tayside Division, on 101 or approach any police officer.
