A pair of pensioners from the south coast of England have appeared in court over a £97,000 drugs haul at an address in Dundee.

Their appearance comes after police officers raided a house in the St Mary's area of the city on Friday when they recovered class A and B substances.

Alan Roy Golding, 66, of Southsea, Hampshire, and Carole Ann Bissett, 68, of Bognor Regis, West Sussex, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.

The pair, along with Kevin Craig, 39, and Wendy Massie, 30, both of Dundee, faced two charges each of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

All four made no plea or declaration during individual private hearings on petition to charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Their cases were continued for further examination and they were released on bail ahead of further proceedings.

The arrests came as police announced more than £128,000 of drugs and £47,000 in cash have been seized in raids across Tayside in the last month as part of Operation Slate.

A total of 26 people have been charged with various offences as a result.
