Daughter of missing hillwalker 'desperate' for information
Jim Robertson was out walking in the southern Cairngorms this week and has not been seen since.
The daughter of a missing 61-year-old hillwalker has issued an emotional appeal for information regarding her father on social media.
Jim Robertson was out walking in the southern Cairngorms and is believed to have been staying at Bob Scott's bothy, near Glen Lui.
Friends and family are concerned for his safety and have appealed for any other walkers in the area and hills around the bothy who may have seen Mr Robertson to come forward.
Mr Robertson left his home address in Cathcart, Glasgow, on Monday 29 February and is described as five ten inches tall, medium build, with short grey hair and wearing glasses. He is believed to be carrying a large rucksack.
In posts on Facebook, his daughter Lynn Strachan said her family was "distraught and desperate" for news.
She said: "We know that he has been out in the snow (potentially since Monday) with next to nothing on his person.
"Our only hopes of finding him rely on people who have been or are in the Cairngorms area to come forward with any information.
"The area is so vast and we have no information about what mountain he could be on. We need someone who has seen my dad to help Braemar and Aberdeen mountain rescue teams to narrow their search.
"We are desperate for my dad to be found."
Kate Danielle, known to Mr Robertson, posted on Facebook: "James is a very experienced hill walker and this is very out of character. Please please share this as far as you can. His family and friends just want to know that he is safe."
So far, 85 people have been deployed in the search for Mr Robertson, with six search and rescue dogs and a coastguard helicopter also in use.
Braemar Mountain Rescue issued an appeal for information online, and said:
"There is an on-going search for an overdue 61-year-old walker named Jim Robertson who was staying at Bob Scott's bothy during the week.
"If anyone has been out walking in the southern Cairngorms, particularly hills accessible from the bothy, and think they may have met or seen this lone walker please get in touch with us.
"If you are out tomorrow, please keep an eye out for him. Many thanks."
Anyone who may have seen James is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
