Three people admit prison van breakout plot which killed man
Man shot dead by police when the trio tried to free Izzet Eren while he was being driven to court.
Three men have pleaded guilty to their part in a plot to spring a convict from a prison van which led to one man getting shot dead by police.
The men were trying to help Izzet Eren escape while he was being transferred between jail and Wood Green Crown Court in December.
An intelligence-led operation saw police foil the plan during which Jermaine Baker, 28, from Tottenham, north London, was killed.
Eren, 32, Nathan Mason, 30, and Gokay Sogucakli, 18, admitted conspiring in the escape plot and conspiracy to carry an imitation firearm with criminal intent.
Two others, Ozcan Eren, 31, and Eren Hasyer, 25, of Kettering Road, Enfield, denied the same charges.
All five were remanded in custody to appear again in court next month.
An Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation inot Mr Baker's death is ongoing.
