Concern for man known to sleep rough as temperatures plummet
Jamie Alexander was last seen on Tuesday night at Banchory High Street.
Concern is growing for a man who is known to sleep rough and who has not been seen for two days when temperatures dropped below freezing.
Jamie Kyle Alexander, who is also known as James Mackenzie, was last seen at a guest house on Banchory High Street at around 9.30pm on Tuesday.
Police say he is known to sleep "wherever he can" and given the low temperatures they are keen to trace him.
They are appealing for any member of the public who may have seen him to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "He is described as being about 5ft 10in, of slim build, and when last seen was wearing a black jacket and black tracksuit trousers and carrying a rucksack on his back.
"Enquiries to date have identified a man who was seen in two of the town centre hotels in Banchory around this time. This male is similarly described but may have been wearing a camouflage-type jacket but was also carrying a rucksack.
"He was seen to leave one of the premises about 9.30pm and his current whereabouts are unknown.
"Jamie is known to sleep wherever he can and given the current low overnight temperatures, concerns are being raised for his welfare.
"Police Scotland are appealing to anyone who may have seen Jamie or who may have information regarding Jamie's whereabouts to contact us on 101 or to provide information anonymously on via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111."
