Man found dead in Glasgow sparks major investigation
Police are in attendance at Parkhead after an incident was reported just after midnight.
A man has been found dead in Parkhead, prompting a major police investigation.
The incident happened on Westmuir Street around the Gallowgate area.
Residents reported hearing sirens and police officers shouting in the street from just after midnight on Tuesday.
It is understood police were shouting at one person to "get up" and "show your hands".
Several police vans and unmarked police cars were seen in the area over the hours that followed.
When asked by residents what was happening, officers said a "major incident".
Police activity was also seen at a residential property on Burgher Street, which is cordoned off.
It is understood police attended the property, which is a flat, throughout the night.
Westmuir Street is closed between Gallowgate and Crail Street. Police have advised drivers to use alternative routes.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said the incident was ongoing and further details would be released later in the morning.
