Casualties taken to hospital after serious road collision on the A9 near Delny.
Two women have been taken to hospital following a crash in the Highlands.
The two-car collision happened on the A9 near Delny, Invergordon.
The road was closed in both directions after emergency services received a report of the incident shortly before 1.30pm on Sunday 21 February.
Police, fire and ambulance staff attended the incident.
Police said a woman driving a blue Ford Fiesta and a woman passenger in a blue Honda civic were taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries, where they remain in the care of hospital staff.
The driver of the Honda received minor injuries as a result of the collision.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said the casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance and helicopter.
Officers within the Trunk Road Policing Unit attended at the scene and conducted an investigation into the collision.
Police have said they are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have seen the movements of the cars involved in the collision, prior to the incident.
Officers are also keen to speak to the driver of a light blue or silver Audi A3 which may have been in the area at the time.
