Missing climbers search resumes amid freezing weather
Snowy and windy conditions on Ben Nevis mean there is a risk of avalanches.
Searches for two climbers missing on Ben Nevis have resumed amid freezing conditions.
Rescue teams set out on Saturday morning in a bid to locate Rachel Slater, 24, and Tim Newton, 27, though snowy and windy conditions mean there is a potential for avalanches.
Ms Slater and Mr Newton failed to return from an outing on Britain's highest peak last weekend.
They were last seen on Sunday but it is understood they did not tell anyone of their climbing plans, leaving rescuers at a loss over where to look for them.
They had been camping behind the Charles Inglis Clark hut, at the bottom of the north face.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team said the weather conditions meant a Coastguard rescue helicopter was unable to help with the search.
Temperatures on the summit of Ben Nevis are at -6C but will feel like -19C due to the windchill factor.
