Viola Beach break into UK Singles Chart at number 11
Viola Beach have entered the UK's Official Singles Chart following the fatal crash.
Tragic four-piece Viola Beach have posthumously broken into the UK Singles Chart top 20 after an online campaign by fans.
All four members of the band and their manager were killed when their car fell 80ft from a bridge in Sweden last weekend.
Following their deaths, fans took to social media to try to get their debut single, Swings and Waterslides, into the charts.
The campaign was backed by former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and Kasabian, among others - including Premier League club Manchester City.
The track eventually just missed out on the top ten, it was announced this afternoon, coming in at number 11 in the Official Chart.
All proceeds from the single, which also topped the iTunes chart earlier this week, will go to the families of the band and their manager.
Viola Beach were in Scandinavia for their first ever performance outside the UK when the tragedy happened.
They were due to play a homecoming show in Warrington next month.
