Emergency services have been called to a three-vehicle crash in Angus.

Police described the collision as "serious" and have closed the road while paramedics deal with casualties.

The crash happened on the A92 Arbroath to Montrose road at the Maryton junction at noon on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Motorists are advised to avoid the area of the A92 near Maryton junction following a serious road traffic collision involving three vehicles at about 12pm this afternoon.

"Local diversions will be put in place, but please expect queues, avoid the area if possible and use alternative routes."
