A train crash which killed 11 people and injured 80 others in Germany earlier this month is believed to have been the result of "human error", according to officials.

German prosecutors said they believed a train dispatcher's actions caused the high-speed head on collision between two trains on February 9.

The trains were travelling in opposite directions on the same set of tracks near Bad Aibling in Bavaria when they crashed and several carriages overturned.

At the time of the crash German police described the train crash as the "biggest accident" in the region in years.
