Five men are to appear in court in connection with the theft of an ATM in Carnoustie.

The men were detained on Friday after the Co-op shop in the Barry Road area of the town was raided in the early hours of the morning.

The men are to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that five men have been charged in relation to the theft of an ATM in the Barry Road area of Carnoustie on Friday, February 12.

"The five men, from the Liverpool and Birmingham areas, are aged 26, 27, 28, 32 and 43."
