Emmerdale wins Best Soap at the Broadcast Awards!
Emmerdale picked up that awards after judges ruled them "the most professional of the soaps at the moment"!
It was a victorious night for Emmerdale at the Broadcast Awards on Wednesday, as the soap beat off rivals Eastenders and Coronation Street to win Best Soap.
Judges awarded the show for its big stunt episodes, including the disastrous helicopter crash in the summer, and “the culmination of careful plotting and character development”.

Of course, everyone at Emmerdale was delighted:

And the cast scrubbed up pretty well for the occasion. Debbie Dingle, is that you we spy there? And Val, oh how we've missed you!
We scrub up well, don't we? #BroadcastAwards #Emmerdale pic.twitter.com/pIM8so5rsH

There has been some change behind the scenes of Emmerdale recently, as producer Kate Oates departed and Iain MacLeod took over.
See our interview with the new producer here, where he teases some “quite exciting plans” for the autumn.
Could there be more awards in the future for Emmerdale?
After last night's dramatic scenes, we certainly think so!
