Scottish Take Me Out contestant David McLeod has found love – but he’s revealed his new romance wasn’t the result of his date on the popular show.

Fans of Take Me Out watched as Edinburgh-based David jetted off to the Isle of Fernando’s with fellow Scot Emma, from Glasgow, on the most recent episode of the dating programme on Saturday.

Cupid’s arrow seemed to have hit the pair, as they enjoyed a couple’s massage and openly flirted with one another.

But when they headed into town to hit a club along with the other couples from the show, things cooled off; particularly when there seemed to be more of a ‘bromance’ than a romance developing.

“It started off quite well, I was happy with the date,” David told stv.tv’s Gill Harvey.

“I think after the date she saw me and Paul were quite close and we got along well, so I think [Emma] had a bit of bother with that to be honest.”

Gardener David added: David added: “In the end there wasn’t as much chemistry. She started pushing me away and giving me the cold shoulder.

“I wasn’t gutted, but I felt ‘I’m not going to hang about like a rash, I’m not going to chase her about’.

“I offered her drinks on the night out and to have a dance, but she wasn’t having it.”

With Emma (pictured above) not appearing keen, David soon found his head turned by another girl – Terezita, who was Paul’s date.

“I wanted to check with Paul first if that was alright. I got along with him so well, so I didn’t want him think I was being sneaky, but I got the thumbs-up.”

Sadly, no spark developed with the Irish model, but despite not finding love on Take Me Out, David’s now happily dating an Edinburgh bartender called Amy, who he’s been with for around two months now.

“I think it will be serious,” David said of his new relationship, adding: “She’s a great girl, she’s lovely.

“We’ve got a lot in common... I took her out and wined and her dined her, and she seems to like me.”

Of course, if things don’t work out, we’re sure hunky David – who has been inundated with friend requests and followers on social media since appearing on Take Me Out – won’t be short of a date for long...

The gardener says he had a “great experience” on the dating programme, and is now itching to pursue other opportunities on screen.

“I’d love to do some more TV, maybe do another TV show, maybe get involved in a reality show, something like Big Brother,” he explained.

David’s also keen to take up modelling and revealed he’s planning a potential move to London, where he’s hoping to hook up with Take Me Out pal, model and body double Paul (pictured below), and follow in his footsteps.

“I hope to do a little bit of body modelling, get my body in shape a bit more and get myself out there. I think I have quite a good look about me,” he explained.

We’ll certainly be keeping an eye out to see what David does next!

Tune into the next episode of Take Me Out at 8pm on Saturday February 13.
