BMX bike superstar and former MTV presenter Dave Mirra has died at the age of 41.

According to a Facebook post by the Greenville Police department in North Carolina, Mirra was found sitting in a truck with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after visiting friends in the area.

The post adds that Mirra is survived by his wife and two children.
