Scots companies failing to pay minimum wage 'named and shamed'
The UK Government has revealed the 92 employers that failed to pay a total of almost £2m.
Restaurants, a care home and a branch of Pizza Hut are among the Scottish companies "named and shamed" for not paying workers the minimum wage.
The UK Government's business minister has revealed a list of 92 companies that owed a total of £1,873,712 in sectors including hairdressing, social care and hospitality.
A total of ten Scottish companies are included in the list, some of which owed hundreds of pounds to employees.
Pizza Hut on St John's Road in Edinburgh failed to pay £309.02 to 13 employees while Khushi's restaurant in the city failed to pay £564 to one employee.
Hair Heroes in Inverness failed to pay £174 to one worker and Charlie Miller Hairdressing in Edinburgh failed to pay a worker £530.
Broch Tandoori in Fraserburgh did not pay five employees £193, while Elizabeth House care home in Kirkcaldy failed to pay £117 to one worker.
Business minister Nick Boles said each of the cases was thoroughly investigated by HMRC.
He said: "As a one-nation government on the side of working people we are determined that everyone who is entitled to the national minimum wage receives it.
"There is no excuse for not paying staff the wages they’re entitled to. Our policy of naming and shaming employers who ignore the law means there are consequences for their reputation as well as their wallets.
"In April, we will introduce a new national living wage which will mean a pay rise of over £900-a-year for someone working full-time on the minimum wage and we will enforce this equally robustly."
