Seven Bank of Scotland branches set to close as Lloyds cuts jobs
The firm also intends to close 19 Lloyds and three Halifax branches and shed more than 1500 jobs.
Lloyds Banking Group plans to shut seven Bank of Scotland branches north of the border.
The group also intends to close 19 Lloyds and three Halifax branches as it prepares to shed more than 1500 jobs.
The partly taxpayer-owned bank is expected to reveal which branches will close later this week, but no Lloyds or Halifax banks will shut in Scotland.
The majority of the jobs are expected to be lost at Halifax branches in England and Wales.
A spokesman for Lloyds said: "As part of our Group Strategic Review, we can confirm that we will be closing seven Bank of Scotland branches during June this year.
"In many cases this is due to an overlap of branches in these towns, and in some cases we are addressing reduced demand. We apologise for any inconvenience that these changes may cause, and have informed customers of the closest alternative branch.
“Branches will continue to play an important role in our multi-channel approach to meeting customer needs and we expect to continue to have the biggest branch network in the Scotland.”
