Take Me Out Scot David McLeod was ‘overwhelmed’ by Flirty 30 choice
Edinburgh gardener David McLeod chats to stv.tv about appearing on Take Me Out, picking fellow Scot Emma as his date in Fernando’s, and the reaction he’s had since going on the dating show.
Scottish Take Me Out contestant David McLeod admits he was “overwhelmed” by the bevy of beauties in the Flirty 30 on the show, and struggled over who to pick to jet off with to the famous Isle of Fernando’s.
Gardener David made quite an impression on the girls, with all 30 lights being kept on during the first round.
He continued to hold attention throughout the other heats, and said he was pleased with how he came across on TV, despite suffering from nervous pangs before emerging from the 'Love Lift'.
“Getting the 30 lights coming down the lift... I was quite pleased with that,” David told stv.tv’s Gill Harvey.
“During rehearsals there’s no girls, no Paddy [McGuinness] and no audience. You only get one run at that, and then it’s the real thing, coming down the lift.
“The nerves were all over the place, but the reactions were great, so I just went with it and I loved it.”
In the end David picked Glaswegian nail technician Emma to whisk off to Fernando’s for a sun-soaked holiday.
Was he attracted to her purely because she was a fellow Scot?
“I think that was a bit of a safety net, I thought ‘we'll have a bit in common', she’s Scottish, from Glasgow and I’m from Edinburgh,” David explained.
He added: “My love at first light [Charlotte] turned her light off on the third round and I was a bit gutted.
“There were a lot of girls there... I think it was a bit overwhelming.”
With David failing to secure his first choice, did love eventually blossom for David and Emma on their sun-soaked date? You’ll need to tune into Take Me Out this Saturday, February 6, at 8pm to see what happened!
One thing is for sure, David has certainly attracted a bit of extra attention from the ladies since his appearance on Take Me Out.
“Quite a few girls when they saw me on Take Me Out have been giving me a bit of extra flirting and a few messages have come through [on Facebook]. And I’ve also had a lot of requests from followers on Instagram,” he explained.
The hunky gardener has also had huge support from family, friends and locals from Edinburgh after going on the show.
“On Saturday everyone was going wild for it! Everyone was coming up to me, everyone loved it. There were no bad remarks.”
